Born in Kampot, Chetra acquired bachelor degrees in Education (TEFL) and International Studies at Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) under Cambodian national scholarships. He’s currently doing his MA in International Affairs, concentrating in Mass Communication and Southeast Asia at Ohio University (OU), United States. He has also been to educational programs in countries such as Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand and Singapore.
He is working at OU as a web assistant at the moment. Prior to that, he taught at RUPP, and ran his own private International School in Phnom Penh. Other work affiliations include UNDP, UNESCO, VOA, ABC News, International Republican Institute, and Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace. He has given a few interviews to VOA and BBC’s Loy9 Project on various topics such as ASEAN Integration 2015, Youth’s Self-Expression and Digital Technologies in Cambodia. As part of his life goal, he is building the first ever citizen-journalism, web-based publication “Khmer Scholar” as a collection of great minds who care about Cambodia.
His ultimate dream is to offer free I.T. and design education to poor students in Cambodia.
